OCFF 2024:
Movies Are All Around Us

In its 13th year, the Oak Cliff Film Festival (OCFF) continues to celebrate bold, independent films across historic theaters, art venues, and local businesses. Recognized by The New York Times, Filmmaker Magazine, and Moviemaker Magazine, OCFF is a nationally acclaimed festival that fosters creativity in Dallas.

Festival Theme

This year’s theme, "Movies Are All Around Us," was developed with Benjy Joung and Nick Denman. It invites us to see movies everywhere—posing the question: Where do movies come from? How do we experience them? Whether it's through iconic landmarks or daily objects, film is all around us.

Logo and Identity

The 2024 OCFF logo symbolizes a big screen using a bold eye design, while the sky-blue color palette represents the expansive possibilities of film. The evolving, swirling rectangles transform into a cylinder, embodying the ever-growing collection of undiscovered films.

Campaign:

This year’s campaign featured creative bumpers inspired by small, everyday objects around the Oak Cliff neighborhood, reinforcing the concept that "Movies Are All Around Us." Social media posts, animations, and large-format magazine designs brought this theme to life, along with merchandise like shirts, hats, and festival beer cans.

Emerging Technology

Two innovative AR experiences expanded engagement: scanning submission postcards revealed a digital theater with a Call to Action, and scanning festival beer cans displayed a swirling cylinder of floating films—immersing attendees in the festival theme through modern technology.
